The Kenrick Sentrilock window gearbox is the central drive unit of the Sentrilock slimline shootbolt locking system, fitted to millions of uPVC and offset aluminium windows across the UK. When the gearbox wears or strips, the handle turns but the shootbolts stop throwing – this genuine Kenrick replacement lets you swap the failed unit and keep the rest of the mechanism in place.
Part of a Sentrilock system salt-spray tested in excess of 500 hours, the gearbox drives a three-point shootbolt lock for serious intruder resistance. The case is stamped “KENRICK SENTRILOCK” on the body, making identification simple.

Identify
Open the window and check the case is stamped KENRICK SENTRILOCK. Confirm the 18mm backset and 43mm handle screw centres.

Remove
Take off the window handle, unscrew the old gearbox from the sash and disengage it from the shootbolt rods.

Fit
Engage the new gearbox with the existing rods, screw it back into the sash, refit the handle and test the full throw before closing.

How do I check this is the right gearbox for my window?
Open the window and look at the lock strip on the edge of the sash – the Sentrilock gearbox case is stamped “KENRICK SENTRILOCK”. Then measure the backset (centre of the handle spindle hole to the front of the faceplate, 18mm) and the handle screw centres (43mm). If you are unsure, send us a photo of your old gearbox via the listing and we will confirm compatibility before you buy.
Does it come with the shootbolt rods or handle?
No – this is the centre gearbox only. It engages with your existing Sentrilock shootbolt rods, and your existing espag window handle refits straight onto it. Replacement rods and extensions are available separately.
Will it fit both left and right hand windows?
Yes. The gearbox is non-handed and suits both left and right hand opening uPVC and offset aluminium windows.
Is it hard to fit?
No – a competent DIYer can fit it in around 15 minutes with a screwdriver. Remove the handle, unscrew the old gearbox, engage the new one with the rods and refit. No adjustment of the frame keeps is normally needed as the lock geometry is unchanged.
